The exquisite 47-seater coach took us through the Gayaza- Kayunga- Galilaya- Jinja route. It is a unique piece of machine that I haven’t seen anywhere in this region. It has leather seats fitted with magazine holders, swivel armrests, footrests, foldable tables, cub holders, a LED saloon and Reading lights, USB charging points, overhead luggage bins, 24V radio, CD/DVD/MP5/Amplifier, two 19 LCD monitors, internet connectivity, onboard bus toilet, a refrigerator and automatic sanitizer dispensers, among other specs.

At around 6:00 pm on Friday, Kayoola bus which was built by Kiira Motors Corporation and Luweero Industries, a military institution emerged from Soroti entering Mbale city and started making rounds within town. It made stop overs in the major streets within.

I follow Hightower on Twitter and had read some impressive reviews about him and his book, Motoring Africa. I was excited that somebody of his status can accept an advisory role in an ideally small start-up in Africa.

• Who has been going abroad for treatment? The senior political class and their families of course. We are not begrudging them their business class travel to expensive health facilities outside. No, we are just thankful to Covid that our government can now invest in treatment facilities to serve even ordinary citizens for treating the deadliest diseases.

Tuesday November 26 2019 In Summary Technicians started building the Kayoola Electric Bus, which came as a semi-knocked down unit, on October 30, and hope to be done by end of December. Once technical tests are complete, the buses will deployed for a road test with passengers on the 40km Kampala-Entebbe route.
